Making money with written articles is not difficult and you do not need any previous experience, as you truly can learn while working. That being said, there are some skills that you will need to teach yourself, or pick up along the way to make your websites productive. You can’t go in not knowing anything, not learning anything, and still expect to pull in good revenue (or any revenue at all).

One thing you need to acquire is the ability of picking the right written material that will assist to make your web sites a success. There are many forms of content, from free written content to high dollar content, and each comes with its own advantages, and disadvantages (although costly content is more likely to give you a successful site in the end).

Second, you will want to know how to pick out keywords that can assist you in getting a good amount of traffic, without being too aggressive to get on the first or second page of Google. If you wish to make it to the first two pages you need to know that selecting the highly competitive keywords the big wigs are employing is not going to serve you.

You will in addition need to learn how to optimize your Internet site in the correct way for the search engines. Having SEO skills will help you employ your keywords the right way to ensure that you are going to build a successful Internet site within your chosen niche.

You are going to have to know how to market your Internet site through adverts and text links if you are going to build a large Internet site that will be the focal point of your new Internet marketing career. Yet if you are going to build small 2 to 5 page niche web sites then it is not financially sensible for you to promote all of these websites this way.

If you can capture some of these abilities and attack them aggressively during your first few small websites or the first couple of months of a larger site, then you will eventually become an expert. The only thing you are going to need is to read up on how to get started, the rest you are going to learn on your own through testing and mistakes. It makes good sense then for you to expend some funds upfront to obtain a few marketing e-books that will assist you get started up with your first small site.
